KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 — A 27-year-old woman was arrested recently to facilitate investigations after allegedly posting offensive remarks against the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, in her Facebook account.

Selangor police confirmed the arrest of the woman through the police Facebook which was uploaded an hour ago saying the woman had been arrested in Sungai Jelok, Kajang. 

According to the police several equipment were also seized to facilitate investigations while investigations would be carried out under Section 4 (1) of the Sedition Act 1948.

In the Facebook posting, the woman had allegedly insulted the Sultan openly.

The palace had subsequently lodged a police report. — Bernama
