Cops launch probe on Teresa Kok over CNY video

KUALA LUMPUR Feb 4 — Police have opened an investigation paper on Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok regarding her Chinese New Year video clip uploaded on Youtube which is alleged to contain elements which can cause fear or alarm to the public.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh said Kok was being investigated under Section 505 (B) of the Penal Code and Section 233 (1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act for allegedly making statements that insulted the nation's leaders.

He told this to reporters after closing a crime prevention seminar at  Universiti Malaya here today.

Teresa, who is also DAP vice chairman, is alleged to have uploaded the video clip titled 'Onederful Malaysia CNY 2014 Video Clip' on Youtube' on January 27.

The 11.39-minute video portrayed Kok as a feng shui host interviewing three panelists regarding the CNY and their feng shui predictions.

The panelists in the video are alleged to have poked fun on a variety of issues such as the current education system in Malaysia, and the issue of terrorist intrusion in Lahad Datu, Sabah last year and top leaders. — Bernama
