Wisma Putra issues travel advisory for Bangkok

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 22 — Malaysians are advised to postpone or avoid visiting Bangkok following the worsening situation in Thailand’s capital.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said his ministry was monitoring the situation closely.

“By taking into account the current situation, the ministry urges all Malaysians to postpone or avoid visiting Bangkok at the present moment,” he said after meeting with Turkmenistan Foreign Minister, Rashid Meredov at the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations, here, today.

To date, nine people were reported killed and almost 600 injured since the violent incidents erupted on November 30 last year. — Bernama
