DUNGUN, Jan 21 -- A two-year-old girl was found dead in a vacant house at Taman Perumahan Permint Seberang Paka here today.
State CID chief ACP K.Manoharan said the toddler whose remains were found by a 31-year-old security guard who was patrolling the area around 3.30 pm was believed to have been murdered.
According to him, the security guard had detected a stench and noticing that the door of the empty house was ajar, went in to inspect.
“The body was lying on the bathroom floor with blood stains on its dress. It was already bloated and we believe she has been dead for more than 24 hours.
“We are still acertaining her identity but we think she is a Malay,” he told reporters here today.
The remains had been sent to Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) Hospital in Kuala
Terengganu for post mortem and DNA profiling.—Bernama
