ALOR SETAR, Jan 5 — Police have denied a report that a five-year-old girl was raped by her six-year-old cousin in Pendang, Kedah on on Dec 29.

Pendang police chief DSP Abdul Aziz Ahmad said the medical report submitted by the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) found no signs the victim was raped.

He said the parents of the girl had lodged a police report on the matter on Jan 1.

“We advised the parents of the girl to take the child for a medical examination at HSB which found there was no occurence of rape,” he told Bernama today.

He added that police had not classified the case pending the medical report.

Abdul Aziz was responding to a report in a local daily yesterday which said the girl was raped by her cousin while they were playing ‘ibu bapa’ (mother-father) at her home.  — Bernama
