PETALING JAYA, Dec 9 — A woman was found dead in her room, believed to have been murdered, at Goodyear Court 2 in Jalan USJ6/1, Subang Jaya, near here yesterday.

Subang Jaya police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli said factory worker Rumaizah Burham, 54, was found dead by her sister at about 4.30pm.

The 59 year-old sister who declined to be identified said she suspected something amiss after finding the room door locked from inside.

“I directed her son to break open the door and was shocked to find my sister lying with the face covered with pillow and injury in the face.

“Police investigation found that the victim’s room was ransacked while the grill and the main door were not damaged,” he told reporters at the scene.

Yahaya said the victim was injured in the face, forehead and nose and was believed hit with a blunt object.

He believed that thieves broke into the house thinking she had gone to work and that she could recognise them.

“Several witnesses including neighbours and security guards had been interrogated but we did not get any positive information.”

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
