Students of higher learning institutions must exercise wisdom, says Idris Jusoh

SHAH ALAM, Dec 9 — Students of institutions of higher learning should exercise wisdom when making judgements, to avoid being easily influenced by irresponsible quarters.

Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said, as students at the highest level of the education system, they should evaluate every information they received carefully and not simply make judgement without checking thoroughly first.

“Do not easily accept something wholesale. Scrutinise first and consider appropriately to avoid being made use of by those with self interests.

“As young leaders, you all should be able to make judgements because a successful leader is a leader who can wisely decide,” he said at a gathering with Students’ Representative Council of Higher Educational Institutions here last night.

Taking the sweet promises sowed by the opposition parties to abolish the National Higher Education Fund Corporation and giving free higher education as examples, he said they were only a means of making the opposition popular. — Bernama
