KOTA BARU, Dec 9 — Kelantan has fully recovered from the flood as all 99 victims, who were moved to four relief centres, were given the green light to return home.
According to the state government’s official portal, 94 people in Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas and the rest in Pengkalan Kubor, Tumpat were allowed to leave after 10am.
As a result, all temporary relief centres were closed, according to the portal.
Since the flood inundated six districts in Kelantan last week, more than 2,000 people were moved to relief centres.
No loss of life was recorded due to the flood.
The flood victims expressed satisfaction with the efforts of government agencies in relocating them to relief centres, and the provision of facilities and assistance at the centres.
Last Friday, International Trade and Industry Minister and Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed spent time visiting the disaster areas in the state.
Currently, the weather in Kelantan is downcast.
Yesterday, the state fire and rescue department reminded residents to be alert over the possibility of the next wave of flood. — Bernama
