Former RMAF chief Mohamed Ngah dies

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 — Former Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) chief Left Gen (R) Tan Sri Mohamed Ngah Said died in KPJ Tawakal Hospital, Jalan Pahang today.

Mohamed Ngah, 75, died from bacteria infection at 6pm.

RMAF public relations officer Major Roslan Salam said Mohamed Ngah was admitted to the hospital for one week since Thursday.

“His remains were brought to his house in Setapak and then to Masjid Ibnu Sina in Lorong Chan Chin Mooi at 8am tomorrow for prayers before burial at Setapak Muslim cemetery,” he told Bernama.

Mohamed Ngah was the RMAF’s eighth chief (August 29, 1983-March 18, 1990.)

He was the first Malay pilot to fly the Alouette III helicopter used during the emergency period and confrontation with Indonesia. — Bernama
