Floods: Power supply fully restored in Johor, Malacca and Kelantan

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 — As of 10am today, power supply was fully restored in Johor, Malacca and Kelantan, and no consumer account has been affected.

According to a Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) statement here today, electrical supplies in Pahang and Terengganu however, have yet to become fully operational.

He said 60 electrical sub-stations in Pahang, involving 1,890 consumer accounts were shut down, while 90 sub-stations were shut down in Terengganu and they pertained to 3,328 consumer accounts.

In Pahang, the areas involved were Kuantan (37 sub-stations), Triang (11), Pekan (six), Temerloh (four), and one each in Maran and Jerantut.

The statement said 26 sets of power generators were supplied in Kuantan while four sets were sent to Jerantut.

Meanwhile in Terengganu, the affected areas were Geliga where 68 sub-stations were shut down, Cheneh (17), Chukai (three) and Al-Muktafi Billah Shah (two).

The statement said, 33 sets of power generators were supplied in Kemaman.

It said all nine TNB dams in peninsula Malaysia were at the safe level, adding that no overflow of water occurred.

The dams are Pergau Dam in Kelantan, Kenyir Dam (Terengganu), four Sungai Perak dams, namely, Temenggor Dam, Bersia Dam, Kenering Dam and Chenderoh Dam and three dams in Cameron Highlands, the Sultan Abu Bakar Dam, Jor Dam and Mahang Dam. — Bernama
