TAWAU, Dec 8 — An Indonesian labourer who was on his way home after collecting wages, was set upon and killed by a group of men at an oil palm plantation in Kalabakan near here on Friday.
Jodi Seo, 30, who sustained five stab wounds in the body, died on the spot in the incident at about 7pm.
His body was sent to the Tawau Hospital.
Tawau police chief ACP Awang Besar Dullah said three men, aged between 23 and 39, were detained to facilitate investigations into Jodi’s murder.
He said the victim and his friend were returning home on a motorcycle after collecting their wages at the oil palm plantation office when about 15 men hurled stones at the duo.
“Jodi, who was riding the machine, fell down and was beaten and stabbed by the group while his friend ran to safety,” said Awang Besar in a statement here today. — Bernama
