MARANG, Dec 5 — To improve the efficiency and management of the Royal Malaysia Police force (RMP), the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) has been upgraded to brigade-class, effective today.
“We will also see the equipment we use is suitable with the present times and use new technology in giving directions.
He told this to reporters after attending a celebration to mark the 58th anniversary of the formation of the FRU.
According to him, this recognition also gives space to the FRU to manage financial resources and the welfare of its members, which currently has a total staff strength of 2,463 officers and men.
Meanwhile, he said the police had arrested more than 1,077 traffic offenders who have outstanding summonses and for whom arrest warrants had been issued under Ops Warta starting Sept 25.
“To date, more than 3,000 people who have been issued an arrest warrant have voluntarily come to settle their outstanding summonses and the warrants of arrest issued against them have been canceled.
“I call on those who have yet to settle their outstanding summons to immediately settle them,” he said.— Bernama
