KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 — Police have detained four men, aged between 22 and 37, for their alleged involvement in an assault of a man at the exit road of the Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE) in Sentul yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department deputy head (Intelligence/Operation), ACP Khairi Ahrasa, said the suspects were detained at 10am today when they came to the Sentul police station to give their statements on the incident.

He said that in the 7.50pm incident yesterday, the victim, aged 32, was surrounded and attacked by about 15 men who then dispersed when police arrived at the scene.

The victim was taken to the police station, but was found unconscious on arrival, he said, adding that a medical team was called and the medical officer pronounced the man dead.

Following initial investigations by the police, the incident was triggered following the theft of a Honda Civic car at the parking area of Taman Putra Perdana, Puchong, last Wednesday, he said in a statement today.

Khairi said friends of the owner of the Honda Civic, who were on motorcycles, spotted the car which was caught in a traffic jam on the DUKE Expressway heading towards Jalan Duta yesterday, and approached the car.

There were two men in the car, but one of them managed to escape, he added.

He urged witnesses or those with information on the incident to contact investigating officer ASP Wan Abdullah Wan Said at 03-62562280 or 03-62562307. — Bernama
