Police plug drug pipeline, arrest four men, two Vietnamese women

MUAR, Nov 16 — The police have severed a drug pipeline in the district with the arrest of four men and two Vietnamese woman and seizure of an assortment of drugs, including heroin, syabu and ecstasy pills.

Also seized from the suspects in the three separate raids under 'Ops Cantas' were 28 rounds of ammunition and RM5,000.

The raids were mounted in Sungai Abong here between Monday and Thursday.

Muar police chief ACP Azman Ayob said in the first raid on Nov 11, a police team nabbed a 41-year-old man and two Vietnamese woman, aged 26 and 27, at a house in Sungai Abong here.

In the noon raid, the police found 38 Super bullets and four grammes of syabu at the house.

“Initial investigations have revealed that the man has five criminal records.

We are currently, in the process of locating the man's firearm,” he told a media conference at the district police headquarters here today.

Three days later, the police raided another house in the same area about 2.20pm and nabbed two men, aged 34 and 41.

A search of the house led to the seizure of six grammes of syabu, heroin (500 grammes) eramin (120 grammes), 48 ecstacy pills and RM5,000.

In the third raid at a budget hotel in the area, the police detained a 25-year-old man and seized an undisclosed amount of drugs, tools to break into houses and cars, and sharp weapons. — Bernama
