Followers of ‘Tuhan Harun’ urged to turn themselves in

KUANTAN, Nov 15 — Twenty-seven suspected followers of a deviationist group known as “Tuhan Harun” have been asked to assist the police in the investigation into the murder of Pahang Islamic Religious Department (Jaip) enforcement chief Ahmad Rafli Abdul Malek.

Kuantan district police chief ACP Mohd Jasmani Yusoff said they could surrender at any police station to help the police solve the case.

He said arrests warrants had been issued for seven of them, namely Harun Mat Saat, 47, (sect leader), Husin Ismail, 43, Pius Anahong@ Mahdi Abdullah, 40, Mohd Khalilie Zazali, 31, Syahiszam Soid, 40, Mohd Shahril Mohd Jaafar, 28, and Azida Mohd Zol, 30.

The others are Mohd Hafizuddin Mohd Azam, 27, a 17-year-old boy, Hashim Zakaria, 38, Farhaien Othman, 22, Lukman Harun, 20, Mohd Ghazali Fitri Mohd Azam, 25, Muhammad Nazrul Zakaria, 38.

Mohd Rozi Akasah, 38, Shamsul Amri Abu Hassan, 44, an 18-year-old boy, Norhafizah Mohd Azam, 28, Mohd Edham Mohd Nizam, 18, Khairul Amir Akasah, 34, Sharizal Shamsuddin, 32, Muhammad Harun, 21, Norhairi Harun, 41, a 12-year-old girl, Shazliana Mokhtarudin, 29, Othman Abdullah, 48, and Kheairus Ali, 47.

Kuantan police distributed their pictures to the media today.

Mohd Jasmani said so far, only four out of 31 followers of the deviationist group had surrendered for questioning.

He also urged those with information on the followers of the deviationist group to assist the police.

Ahmad Rafli, 49, was shot dead at close range at the car porch of his home in Indera Mahkota 2 here by one of three men who called out to him at 1.55pm on Sunday. — Bernama
