KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 — Police are still looking for the man who abducted 20-month-old Freddie Joseph from his home in Bangsar last Friday.

City CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said police had not received any tip-off since the photofit of the suspect was released on Sunday.

The suspect is believed to be in his 30s, has short hair, is fair in complexion and about 168cm tall. Police believe he is still in the country.

“If anyone comes across a person of such description, do not hesitate to contact the police,” he said.

Police had earlier arrested Freddie’s Filipina ex-nanny and her boyfriend in a raid at a flat in Taman Desa on Sunday.

The 39-year-old woman worked as a maid for the Josephs for a year before she was asked to leave six months ago. Her boyfriend is a 53-year-old Malaysian plumber. Both were remanded for 14 days.

Freddie was abducted from his home in Jalan Terasek 7, Bangsar Baru, in the 6.20pm incident.

The suspect entered the porch of the house and grabbed the boy, who was alone while his mother Sarah, a school teacher, was inside the house.

Hearing the commotion, Sarah ran out but was slashed with a machete.

Freddie was found wandering at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa the following day.

Police have ruled out kidnapping for ransom as a motive.

Ku earlier said police were looking at other angles, including if it was a personal vendetta.

Police are also looking for the white Toyota Camry used by the suspects.
