KUANTAN, Nov 12 — Police today distributed the photofit of a suspect in the fatal shooting of the Enforcement Chief of the Pahang Islamic Religious Department (Jaip), Ahmad Raffli Ab Malik, 49, last Sunday.

Pahang Police Chief Datuk Sharifudin Ab Ghani said the photofit of one of the three suspects believed to be involved in the incident was made following initial investigation carried out and information received from the public.

“The man was the first suspect who entered the compound of the victim’s house before giving his salutation.

“The suspect was believed to be attired in black and wore a scull cap, had brown skin with white hair and moustache, a beard, muscular body, fine eyebrows, medium nose and thin lips,” he told reporters here today.

He said the photofit produced was believed to be 70 per cent accurate and the suspect was believed to be involved in shooting the victim.

According to police investigation, the second suspect was a man in his 40s while the third suspect was believed to be the driver of the white-coloured Proton Wira Aeroback who was still being investigated, he added.

Sharifudin said police also did not rule out the possibility that the suspects concerned were members of a deviationist group (Tuhan Harun).

“Police are also investigating the details on the car used by the suspect in the incident as well as several other vehicles which were claimed to be lingering in the area near the victim’s house before the incident,” he said.

In the incident, Ahmad Raffli died after being shot by the suspect who came to his house in Indera Mahkota 2, near here in a white Proton Wira Aeroback. — Bernama
