IPOH, Nov 9 — Lumut division MCA Youth chief Ting Tai Fook was elected the Perak MCA Youth chief at the Perak MCA Youth Convention here today.

Perak MCA secretary Datuk Tan Chin Meng when announcing the results said Ting received 202 votes to beat Ipoh Timur division MCA Youth chief Dr Liew Mun Hon who received 156 votes.

The Perak MCA Youth vice-chief was won by Taiping division MCA Youth chief Lee Haw Chen who beat Batu Gajah division MCA division Youth chief Wong Kam Seng.

Incumbent Perak MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon did not defend the post. A total of 359 of the 828 delegates were present at the convention today.

Ting told reporters the Perak MCA Youth will continue to invoke change and project a better image to draw support of the Chinese community especially the young.

Perak MCA Youth will continue to strengthen unity among party members and help the Barisan Nasional (BN) win the next general election.

“We are confident that MCA Youth can change for the better to reflect a good image to the public,” he said. — Bernama
