KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 — Former Teratai State Assemblyman Jenice Lee Ying Ha today withdrew the suit she had filed against the DAP regarding her expulsion from the party.

Judge Datuk Nor Bee Ariffin recorded the application by Lee in her chamber, attended by lawyer Harjit Sandhu who represented Lee and lawyer Sangeet Kaur for the DAP.

Harjit told reporters that Judge Nor Bee did not state any cost and the withdrawal of the suit was made after Lee had received a letter from the DAP dated Oct 7 which had asked her to show cause why her membership could not be withdrawn.

“Following the letter, Jenice (Lee) considered that she was still a member of the DAP,” he said.

Lee had filed the suit on June 5, naming DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng as the defendant.

In the 13th general election, Lee, who was also the former publicity secretary of the Selangor DAP, had contested as an independent candidate in the Teratai state constituency and lost. – Bernama
