TEMERLOH, Oct 21 — A businessman had a harrowing experience when a gunman fired shots at random in the direction of his house near Mentakab early today.

One of the shots had struck the main glass door of Shen Fu Long’s house while the rest found their mark on some prayer paraphernalia in the premises.

At the time, Shen, 40, who is also secretary of a non-governmental organisation involved in anti-drug programmes, and his wife were fast asleep.

“I do not know the motive but I believe the shots were fired to warn me not to interfere in drug addiction activities,” he said.

Temerloh police chief ACP Aziz Salleh confirmed that the gunman had fired four shots in the direction of the front portion of the house. — Bernama
