IPOH, Oct 15 — The Star reported today that a 10-year-old boy sustained a gunshot to his head when his next-door neighbour, a police officer, misfired his pistol when cleaning the firearm.

According to The Star, Mohd Amar Mohd Azizi was shot at his house in Kampung Belanja Kiri, Parit at about 4.30am yesterday.

He was rushed to the Parit health clinic but was then transferred to the Batu Gajah hospital for an X-ray examination.

Perak Tengah Deputy OCPD Deputy Superintendent Leong Ah Kow said results from the X-ray showed that the bullet was found lodged near his throat, The Star reported.

“He was brought to the Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun paediatric intensive care unit for further treatment,” he said.
