KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — Former Kedah mentri besar Tan Sri Azizan Abdul Razak is reportedly in critical condition after experiencing renewed and serious heart complications.

According to state news agency Bernama, Azizan (picture) required emergency procedures at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah Alor Setar yesterday, where he has continued to be treated since he was moved from Hospital Pulau Pinang last month.

According to his former political secretary, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, Azizan’s heart condition had improved following two earlier treatments.

“But his condition has become critical again. I invite all PAS Kedah members to pray for his swift recovery,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama in its report.

Azizan has a history of heart complications as well as diabetes.

In May, he underwent a double amputation to remove both legs due to worsening complications caused by his diabetes.

He also took his oath of office as Sungai Limau assemblyman in the hospital then as he was still recovering from the earlier operation.
