LABUAN, Sept 22 — New Sabah Times journalist Jainuddin Jimin made a surprise when he submitted his nomination form for a seat in the Labuan Umno committee before the 5pm deadline yesterday.
Jainuddin, who is the president of Persatuan Pengerak Media Labuan, said if elected, he would work with other leaders to rejuvenate and bring the party to the mainstream.
“We want to see change and with my experience as a journalist, it will be useful,” he added.
Janinuddin said he was called to offer himself for a seat in the party division because he wanted to see Umno continued to be relevant. “I brave myself to contest on the believe for a need of a combination between the experienced and new faces to ensure Labuan Umno remains strong,” he added.
He said he wanted to bring the voice of the grassroots to the highest level at the party so that they would get the necessary attention. — Bernama
