PETALING JAYA, Sept 19 — A series of short video clips which showed Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) officers forcing the Tapah PKR candidate and his polling agent out of the tallying centre were shown at the the Bersih Tribunal today.

Vasantha Kumar, the PKR candidate for the Tapah parliamentary seat for Election 2013 was testifying on the second day of the tribunal.

“The presiding officer asked the police to stop us from asking them questions and at 11.30pm they chased all of us out including my agents,” he said.

Vasantha said that he was only let back into the tallying centre at 1am, after the ballots were counted.

“When the counting was taking place, Saravanan was inside with his polling agent,” he said, of the MIC candidate who had won the seat.

Vasantha also testified that his former campaign worker, K. Murugan, who was found dead in a pond on election day May 5, in Batu Gajah, some 50 kilometres away, had received death threats.

"His mother, Puan Rajamah told me that Murugan had told her about the death threats from BN supporters, her mother said the same thing to me, the threatening call they will kill Murugan by kidnapping him and by chopping him up with a machete or shooting him if Murugan continue to support PKR and the PKR candidate," he said.

Murugan's mother, Rajamah Pachiappan who testified after Vasantha today, told the tribunal that his son returned home at about midnight on May 1 after a rally, but had left soon after receiving a call to clean up the place.

"What happened to me shouldn't happen to any mother," she said, sobbing uncontrollably.

She said she wants justice her son and claimed that the police have not taken any action until today.

The People's Tribunal on the 13th general election, which is organised by polls watchdog Bersih, is investigating from yesterday till Sunday alleged vote-rigging in the contentious polls.
