KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 5 — The Terengganu police are in the midst of tracking down a foreigner who robbed and raped a cyber cafe worker last month in Padang Hiliran here.
In the noon incident on Aug 27, the man came to the outlet on the pretext of being a patron after it was opened for business by the victim who was alone at the time.
The man pretended to use the computer and when the 24-year-old woman tried to assist him, he pulled out a knife and threatened her.
"He then tied the victim's hands and legs, taped her mouth and raped her. Robbing the woman of her cash and valuables totalling RM4,000, the man fled from the scene," state CID chief ACP K. Manoharan told a media conference here today.
He said the 40-year-old man had visited the shop twice to buy pre-paid cards.
"We are in the midst of tracking the man down. Our investigations reveal he sports a tattoo of a centipede on the left thigh and a tattoo of foreign writings on the left hand.
"We believe he is a foreigner," he added. — Bernama
