MALACCA, Aug 30 — Traffic on several roads in Malacca will be diverted to make way for the state-level 56th Merdeka Day celebration parade starting from Dataran Pahlawan to Hang Tuah Stadium here tomorrow.
Malacca police chief Datuk Chuah Ghee Lye said the procession beginning at 8am from Dataran Pahlawan would wind through Jalan Kota, Jalan Laksamana, Jalan Bendahara, Jalan Meng Seng and Jalan Hang Tuah.
In this regard, he said traffic from Jalan Mata Kuching and Jalan Tun Sri Lanang would be diverted to Jalan Munshi to the Bukit Cina roundabout and to Jalan Tamby Abdullah until Jalan Malacca Raya.
He said traffic from Jalan Mata Kuching to Jalan Hang Tuah would be diverted at the Pengkalan Rama traffic light into Jalan Tun Mutahir until Jalan Tun Ali while motorists from Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho to Bukit Cina would be diverted to Jalan Bukit Cina in front of the Hang Li Poh Well.
“Participants of the parade can park their vehicles at Jalan Tan Chay Yan (beside the Urban Transformation Centre), along Jalan Ong Kim Wee, Jalan Hang Tuah, the old bus station in Jalan Tun Ali, Taman 1 Lagenda, Jalan Panglima Awang (in front of AEON Jusco), Kampung Morten Foodcourt building, Jalan Tun Mamat, Ocean Supermarket, Jalan Gajah Berang and Dataran Rempah,” he said in a statement here today. – Bernama
