ALOR SETAR, Aug 28 — The Kedah government yesterday gave its assurance to cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in the probe on an alleged criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving more than RM2 million belonging to a state government-linked company which was used as political fund in the 13th general election.
Mentri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir said the state government would extend the necessary assistance to take those responsible to justice.
He said this when debating a motion of thanks on the speech by the Kedah Regency Council chairman Tan Sri Tunku Annuar Sultan Badlishah in the State Assembly today.
Mukhriz said the state government viewed the CBT case as serious and would not hesitate to take action against those responsible.
Meanwhile, met by reporters after the state assembly sitting, Mukhriz said the state government was not informed by MACC on the investigation. — Bernama
