SANDAKAN, Aug 18 — A senior citizen was killed in a hit and run at batu 2.5 Jalan Utara near here yesterday.

Chia Thien Yun, 93, was believed to have been crossing the road when the incident happened at 7.20am.

Sandakan district police chief ACP Rowell Marong said the victim succumbed to his injuries at the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

He urged witnesses to contact the traffic-investigating officer at 089-242222 ext 254 to assist in investigations. — Bernama
