KUALA TERENGGANU, Aug 17 — Freelance preacher Ustaz Azhar Idrus was involved in an accident when the Volkswagen Golf GTI car he and his wife were in collided with a Proton Iswara car at the Kampung Pengadang Baru traffic light junction here at 7.45am today.

However, the couple escaped injury while the diver of the other car and his nephew sustained minor injuries and were given outpatient treatment at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) here. 

Kuala Terengganu police chief ACP Zamri Shamsuddin told Bernama Ustaz Azhar whose real name is Zamrul Idrus, 49, and wife were on their way to Bukit Payung in Marang when the accident happened.

The victims in the Proton Iswara were identified as Che Daek Abdul Rahman, 58, and Iskandar Mohd Saidi, 12.

Ustaz Azhar when met by reporters declined to comment. — Bernama
