RANAU, Aug 11 — A woman was killed, while her husband and their six children escaped unhurt when the Suzuki Jeep they were in, skidded and plunged into a ravine in Jalan Kampung Sarapong here yesterday.
Halisah Raibin, 38, a Kadazandusun, died on the spot in the 9.45pm crash which saw the vehicle plunge 70 metres into the ravine.
She sustained multiple head and body injuries.
Halisah's husband, Yasik Atim, was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Ranau police chief DSP Abdul Rahman Kassim said Yasik, 40, and the children, comprising two boys and four girls, aged between six and 14, were unhurt.
He said the family was on its way home from Kampung Mohimboyon, near here when the mishap occurred. — Bernama
