KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 — Three men armed with machetes dragged a poultry trader out of her mini lorry and rammed and fatally injured her as they robbed her of the vehicle in Taman Serdang Raya near here last night.

The robbers had stopped Rohani Harun, 50, at Jalan Serdang Raya 6/3 as she was driving home at 9.35pm after trading at a night market at the Bukit Serdang industrial site, said Serdang OCPD ACP Abdul Razak Elias.

They dragged her out of the lorry, rammed her and dragged her for several metres as she tried to stop them and fled with the vehicle, he said.

Rohani, who was badly injured in the head, died at the emergency ward of the Serdang Hospital, he added.

Abdul Razak said Rohani’s husband, who also trades at the night market, had gone home earlier in another vehicle.

He said police were looking at a closed-circuit TV recording at a nearby fuel station in an attempt to identify the robbers. He also appealed to witnesses to contact the police. — Bernama
