Slain banker to be laid to rest this evening

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 – Arab Malaysian Banking Group founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi will be laid to rest at 8.30pm today at the Mont Kiara Muslim Cemetery.

According to Star Online, Datuk Seri Dr Muhd Shafee Abdullah, a close friend of Hussain Ahmad,  said that Hussain Ahmad’s body would be brought to the Federal Territories Mosque at Jalan Duta before being buried at the cemetery after Isyak prayers.

Dr Muhd Shafee said Hussain Ahmad was the first man to donate US$4mil to the UIA (Islamic International University of Malaysia) Fund when it was first set up.

Speaking on behalf of Hussain Ahmad’s family, Dr Muhd Shafee said the family hoped that the police would investigate the case so the suspects behind the shooting can be caught swiftly.

Hussain Ahmad was shot dead while his wife was seriously injured when they emerged from the Kuan Yin Temple in Lorong Ceylon yesterday afternoon.
