KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 — Air quality at the haze-hit Seri Manjung district improved last night but still remained at the unhealthy level.
The Department of Environment (DOE) on its website said the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in the area as at 10pm was 108 compared to 115 at 8pm.
Meanwhile, the API readings at SK Jalan Pegoh in Ipoh and Bukit Rambai in Malacca at 10pm were at 84 and 80 respectively, while Kuala Terengganu and Seberang Jaya 2, Prai both recorded an API of 79.
Thirty-nine other areas recorded moderate API levels while 13 areas had good air quality, among them in Sabah, Sarawak, Johor and Kedah.
Based on the air quality index, readings between 0-50 is categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), and 300 and above hazardous. — Bernama
