GEORGE TOWN, July 24 — A man who was reported missing while on an outing to the Botanical Garden was found dead late last night.

A spokesman of the Bagan Jermal Fire and Rescue Station said Voon Wei Ming, 53, was found at point 47 of the garden leaning against a rock near a river at 11.40pm.

The spokesman said a search operation was carried out with the cooperation of the Civil Defence Department, Rela and police shortly after receiving an emergency call at 10.20pm.

Meanwhile, Timur Laut OCPD ACP Gan Kong Meng, when contacted, said the body had been sent to the Forensics Department of the Penang Hospital for autopsy and the case was classified as sudden death. — Bernama
