PETALING JAYA, July 11 — Three Sukma athletes — Adib Adha Ismail, 18, Megat Farzeril Faiz Megat Razali and Mohammad Shaizzad Md Shafie, both are 19 — were today charged in the Sessions Court here with raping a 20-year-old games chaperone.

Judge Yasmin Abdul Razak granted them bail of RM10,000 each after fixing their case for August 20, The Star Online reported today.

The three handball players are alleged to have raped the girl in a room in Second College, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, at about 4.10am on July 4.

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had accused Federal Territory handball team officials of joining players in their drinking session prior to the alleged rape.
