KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 — The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the police have set up a special team to investigate the invasion of local Internet domain.
“MCMC has received reports that several registered domain names under domain ‘.com.my’ have been compromised.
“The invasion has caused concern but, fortunately, early quick measures were taken to deal with the suspected invasion,” said MCMC chairman Datuk Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi in a statement here today.
MCMC had contacted the Malaysian Network Information Centre and initial investigations had shown the compromise was limited to the website registered with domain .com.my, he added.
So far, most of the compromise domain are working normally. — Bernama
