Najib leaves Tanzania for London

DAR ES SALAAM (Tanzania), July 1 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak left here last night for a working visit to London after attending the Global Smart Partnership Dialogue.

The premier’s aircraft departed the Julius Nyerere International Airport here at 8.25pm (Malaysian time: 1.25am).

Najib is accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.

Najib, who was on a three-day working visit to Tanzania, joined 14 other heads of government and state at the dialogue held at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre here, named after the founding father of Tanzania.

Among others, the premier shared with the dialogue on Malaysia’s  initiatives to improve the livelihood of its people through various transformation progammes and efforts to propel Malaysia into becoming a high-income nation in seven years’ time. 

On the sidelines of the dialogue, Najib also held bilateral meetings with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse, Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. — Bernama
