KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 — A slight improvement was recorded in the air quality this afternoon at the three places where it was at the unhealthy level in the morning.
At 11am, the air pollutant index (API) was 105 (108 in the morning) in Banting, Selangor; 139 (145) in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, and 105 (109) in Bukit Rambai, Melaka, according to the Department of Environment (DoE) portal.
It reported that the API was at the moderate level in 30 other areas, among them Kota Tinggi (69), Larkin Lama (63), Muar (76) and Pasir Gudang (68) in Johor; City of Melaka (89); Port Dickson (84) and Seremban (80) in Negeri Sembilan; Tanjung Malim (68) in Perak; Kuala Selangor (54), Port Klang (69), Petaling Jaya (85) and Shah Alam (77) in Selangor and Putrajaya (85).
The air pollution level is categorised as hazardous when the reading is 301 or more; very unhealthy at 201 to 300; unhealthy at 101 to 200; moderate at 51 to 100 and good at zero to 50. – Bernama
