KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 – A wanted man was killed in a shootout with police at the Muslim cemetery in Paya Jaras, Sungai Buloh, early today while trying to escape.
Azman Aini, better known as Man Kecik, 30, and believed to have been involved in 10 cases of crime including murder, was shot dead at 1.10am, Sungai Buloh District Police chief Supt Junaidi Bujang said today.
He said Azman, who shot twice at the police, was shot twice in the chest in the incident.
Police also recovered a semi-automatic Steyr 9mm pistol, he said.
He said investigation revealed that Azman also had five criminal records and was also wanted for several firearms cases.
The firefight erupted when police raided two houses at the 15th mile, Kampung Paya Jaras Dalam, near here, and found four men including Azman.
Junaidi said two men were detained, one escaped and Azman was shot dead.
“Police also seized a motorcycle which was reported missing on May 21 in Sungai Buloh,” he said. – Bernama
