KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 — Rapid KL will extend operating hours across selected rail networks on November 4 and 5 to accommodate concertgoers attending Canadian pop star The Weeknd’s two-night After Hours Til Dawn tour at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
The public transport operator announced that the final boarding deadline at the Bukit Jalil LRT station along the Sri Petaling Line is set at 12.30am for direct services travelling towards both the Putra Heights and Sentul Timur terminals.
Passengers requiring transfers must leave the stadium earlier to secure connecting trains. Commuters heading towards the LRT Ampang Line must board at Bukit Jalil by 12.00am to catch the final interchange service departing Chan Sow Lin at 12.13am.
The midnight cut-off also applies to those connecting to the MRT Putrajaya Line via Sungai Besi, where the last outbound train departs for Kwasa Damansara at 12.15am and for Putrajaya Sentral at 12.34am.
Concertgoers relying on the LRT Kelana Jaya Line, the KL Monorail, or the MRT Kajang Line face an earlier departure deadline of 11.30pm from Bukit Jalil.
Kelana Jaya Line passengers can transfer at Masjid Jamek to catch the final train to Putra Heights at 12.03am or towards Gombak at 12.17am. For monorail users, the interchange at Hang Tuah offers final departures to Titiwangsa at 12.08am and KL Sentral at 12.10am.
Those travelling along the MRT Kajang Line must complete a two-step transit manoeuvrer by boarding at Bukit Jalil before 11.30pm. Commuters must first switch to the Putrajaya Line at Sungai Besi by 11.45pm, then complete a second transfer at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) before the final trains depart for Kwasa Damansara at 12.10am and Kajang at 12.13am.
To alleviate traffic congestion around Bukit Jalil, Rapid KL urged concertgoers to utilise its Park and Ride facilities linked to the LRT Ampang, Sri Petaling, and MRT Putrajaya networks.
The LRT Ampang and Sri Petaling corridors feature 15 designated park-and-ride hubs, including multi-level complexes at Ampang, Pandan Jaya, Taman Perindustrian Puchong, Kinrara BK5, Sentul, Putra Heights, and Sungai Besi. A further 14 multi-storey facilities are situated along the MRT Putrajaya Line, serving stations such as Metro Prima, Sri Damansara Timur, Cyberjaya Utara, Sungai Besi, UPM, and Taman Naga Emas.
Motorists can access flat parking rates between RM4.30 and RM5.00 per entry at official rail-operated parking structures, provided they tap in and out using the exact same Touch ‘n Go card for both their parking entry and train fares. Commuters can monitor real-time parking bay availability on concert days through the MyRapid Pulse mobile application.
