SINGAPORE, Oct 2 — A Batik Air flight passenger was purportedly offloaded in Singapore following a dispute with cabin crew over the proper stowing of her carry-on baggage.

TikTok user minimanimo shared a video on Wednesday (Sept 30) of a woman being escorted out of the aircraft.

“Flight delayed because of someone uncooperative,” the caption read. “Well done, Batik Air and Singapore authorities [for handling it] professionally!”

According to her post, the woman had brought a cardboard box on board and insisted on stowing it under the seat in front of her.

A flight attendant purportedly offered to place the box on an empty seat instead, but the woman allegedly declined and refused to fasten her safety seatbelt.

Minimanimo’s video shows a flight attendant holding up the cardboard box and walking towards the front of the plane.

It cuts to another clip showing several uniformed officers standing along the aisle, surrounding a seat.

In the end, a woman is seen following the officers out of the aircraft.

Refused to hand over box

The incident occurred on Batik Air flight OD804, bound for Kuala Lumpur, on Wednesday afternoon, reported Shin Min Daily News.

According to FlightAware, the plane departed about 45 minutes after its original scheduled time of 12.30pm.

Speaking to Shin Min, a passenger surnamed Ke said the woman’s cardboard box could not fit into the overhead compartment.

The passenger said the cabin crew explained to the woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, that she could not keep the box on her body or lap.

The crew reportedly tried to persuade the woman to hand them the box, which would be returned after landing, but she refused.

About five uniformed officers subsequently boarded the plane and removed the woman.
