KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — Art lovers, collectors and the public can explore the passage of time, memory and everyday beauty through Fragments of a Season, an exhibition bringing together 15 Malaysian contemporary artists at Eslite Spectrum, Level 1, The Starhill, here.

Running from July 1 to Sept 30, the exhibition features works spanning figurative art, abstraction, landscapes, still life, sculpture and mixed media, offering different perspectives on how fleeting moments can become lasting memories.

Inspired by changing light and the passage of time, Fragments of a Season invites visitors to pause and reflect on beauty that often goes unnoticed, with each artwork capturing a fragment of experience, emotion or observation that transcends seasons and generations.

The exhibition features Eng Tay, Lau Wai Leng, Soon Lai Wai, Voon Kim Cheong, Nizar Kamal Ariffin, Dennis Chan, Tony Ng, Yann Indigo Room, Yusof Gajah, Alexdrina Chong, Lim Kok Peng, Maamor Jantan, Lui Cheng Thak, Yap Chin Hoe and Ajis Mohamad.

Leading the exhibition is internationally acclaimed Malaysian-born artist Eng Tay, whose career spans more than four decades.

Born in Kedah and now based in New York, Eng is known for his poetic figurative paintings and sculptures celebrating family, music, relationships and everyday experiences.

His works have been exhibited extensively in the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, and are held in museums, institutions and private collections around the world.

His signature rounded figures, expressive colours and emotionally resonant compositions have become instantly recognisable. Influenced by his travels through South America and Indonesia, his paintings transform ordinary moments into timeless stories of love, compassion and human connection.

Beyond his artistic achievements, Eng has also been involved in charitable collaborations, including fundraising efforts supporting women and children in need.

The exhibition offers collectors, art enthusiasts and first-time visitors an opportunity to experience the diversity of Malaysian contemporary art while engaging with works that speak across cultures and generations.
