U Mobile launches Enterprise Innovation Platform Hub to accelerate 5G-A and AI innovation, powering new possibilities for Malaysian businesses
The launch was officiated by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and marks the next phase of U Mobile’s Enterprise Innovation Platform, which aims to help businesses harness emerging technologies to support digital transformation.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 — U Mobile yesterday launched its Enterprise Innovation Platform (EIP) Hub, a collaborative innovation hub built on its 5G-Advanced (5G-A) infrastructure to help enterprises develop and test solutions powered by 5G-A and artificial intelligence (AI).

The launch was officiated by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and marks the next phase of U Mobile’s Enterprise Innovation Platform, which aims to help businesses harness emerging technologies to support digital transformation.

U Mobile said the EIP Hub provides enterprises with a dedicated environment to develop, test and demonstrate 5G-A and AI-enabled solutions before scaling them across their operations.

The platform brings together enterprises, technology partners, academia, advisors and public sector stakeholders to develop, test and demonstrate emerging technologies, helping organisations reduce implementation risks, accelerate adoption and deliver business outcomes.

The launch follows the appointment of the EIP Advisory Panel in July and the expansion of its ecosystem to 15 partners spanning technology, enablement, academia and anchor organisations.

The EIP Hub showcased four in-house implementations demonstrating enterprise applications of 5G-A and AI, including 5G and AI-driven Visual Intelligence for real-time operational monitoring, Digital Twin with 5G, Internet of Things (IoT) and AI for predictive asset management, 5G drone patrolling and data capture for autonomous inspection and surveillance, as well as 5G-enabled humanoid robotic autonomous intelligence to automate operations and enhance productivity.

EIP partners also showcased industry-specific solutions, including MCMC AgriNXT’s AI-powered agriculture solution to optimise plantation operations and asset utilisation; Qualcomm’s AI-enabled smart retail solution providing real-time insights into customer behaviour and store operations; and Huawei’s AI-powered Smart Ward Solution integrating 5G, Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and IoT connectivity for real-time patient monitoring and intelligent analytics.

U Mobile chief executive officer Wong Heang Tuck said the company’s ambition extended beyond providing connectivity, as it aimed to build digital infrastructure to support Malaysia’s next phase of growth.

“At U Mobile, our ambition is not just about providing connectivity. As Malaysia’s newest 5G network provider, we are building the digital infrastructure and the foundation to power the country’s next phase of growth.

“Through the Enterprise Innovation Platform and the EIP Hub, we want to create an environment where organisations can confidently explore new technologies, develop practical solutions and scale innovations that create measurable business outcomes via our state-of-the-art 5G-A infrastructure,” he said.

Wong added that collaboration between the government, industry, academia and technology partners would become increasingly important as digital adoption accelerated across sectors.

As part of the launch, the EIP Hub also held a two-day Executive Innovation Forum featuring industry leaders, technology partners and innovators through thought leadership sessions, solution showcases and an exclusive tour of the hub.

U Mobile said the EIP Hub would continue expanding its ecosystem through strategic partnerships, proof-of-concepts, solution validation and pilot programmes.

Powered by ULTRA5G and U Mobile’s In-Building Coverage (IBC), the hub will serve as a platform for enterprises and partners to develop and validate practical 5G-A and AI applications across key industries.

U Mobile was recently recognised by Opensignal for network performance across Quality of Experience, Network Performance and Application Experience, in addition to the 5G Availability award.
