KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 — Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh wore a fabulously chic black gown to the premiere of Wicked:For Good.

It was custom made by Self-Portrait, where the founder and creative director, Han Chong is Malaysian-born.

A Central Saint Martins graduate, Chong’s Azaelea dress caused a sensation when it launched and Self-Portrait’s elevated presence then helped usher in the mid-range designer market.

On Facebook, Self-Portrait described Yeoh’s gown as a “custom-made black velvet gown with sculptured French lace detailing.”

The label also shared behind the scenes photos of the gown in the various stages of its creation, with Yeoh also modelling the finished work, captioning them: “Special moments bringing this dress to life for Michelle Yeoh for the ‘Wicked: For Good’ premiere.”

Yeoh will be reprising her role as Madam Morrible in the second instalment of the Wicked films.
