KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 — “Why can’t you be like so-and-so” — a common complaint Asian children will have is about their parents comparing them to other children.

TikToker Hakim Haziq (@omghakimparker on TikTok) previously made a hilarious video calling out Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman for almost immediately going cycling after running in the Standard Chartered KL Marathon (SCKLM).

Hakim joked that YB in Syed Saddiq’s name stood for “Yang Berlari” (the one who runs) instead of Yang Berhormat (Honourable).

Hakim has followed up that video, with the caption asking Syed to block Hakim’s mother on TikTok.

“YB, you just finished the Ironman challenge, you just secured RM1 million for Muar but why, YB? Why did you go to Parliament the next day?”

In a humorous monologue Hakim then jokes Syed does not seem to know what a bed is and what it’s used for and that thanks to Syed, he will be unable to use tiredness as an excuse not to clean his room.

Syed, according to Hakim, has now set a standard that his mother will now weaponise against him the way only an Asian mother would. 

Fortunately the Muar MP took it with humour commenting, “Send my regards to your mother, bro.”
