KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 — A Malaysian Pokémon card collector has gone viral after cashing in big — selling his entire collection for a jaw-dropping RM1.87 million.
“My Pokémon card collection has officially been sold for RM1,870,000” announced the collector, Damiral Imran, in a post that quickly caught fans’ attention.
He revealed that before the sale, he’d even been open to trading the stash for a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S and RM1 million in cash — talk about high stakes for rare pulls.
The die-hard Pokémon fan finally made history with the sale, calling it “more than just a transaction — it’s a story of passion, hard work, and legacy.”
“From a small room in Shah Alam to making history in the Pokémon world,” he wrote on Facebook.
Photos he shared showed stacks of colourful Pokémon card boxes neatly piled almost to the ceiling — a sight that would make any trainer’s heart skip a beat.
Damiral said the sale marked both the height of his years-long dedication and the start of a new chapter.
“From passion to legacy, this marks one of the biggest moments in my journey. Every card, every box, every sleepless night — it was all worth it,” he said.
“This isn’t the end; it’s just the start of something even greater.”
Pokémon cards — first launched in Japan back in 1996 — have become a global collecting craze, with rare editions often fetching six-figure sums at international auctions.
