PUTRAJAYA, Sept 17 — The launch of BudayaVerse 2025 on Malaysia Day marked a push to bring corporate players and communities closer to the preservation of culture in the digital age.

The initiative, driven by the Creative and Cultural Strategic Development Organization (CRESDO), was officiated Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akhbar Khan in conjunction with Malaysia Day yesterday.

CRESDO vice-chairman Farid Zulkepli said BudayaVerse 2025 demonstrates the strength of collaboration between culture and technology stakeholders.

“By uniting CRESDO and our strategic partners, we are shaping a future where culture and technology move hand in hand, empowering the creative economy and inspiring the next generation,” he said.

As part of the launch, the SinergiBudaya programme was introduced to encourage CSR-driven partnerships between corporations and the arts community.

The organisers said such collaboration ensures cultural continuity while opening up new opportunities for economic growth.

Another component is the AI x Culture Design Competition, which challenges creators to reimagine traditional art forms like batik and calligraphy through digital platforms.

The organisers said BudayaVerse 2025 aims to show that heritage is not static but can evolve into a source of new economic opportunities.
