KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 — As far as cougars go, Rokiah Samat is one hard act to follow.

The 62-year-old Kelantanese grandmother has proven that she’s still got it after marrying 28-year-old Sabahan Muhamad Amin Jumdail last year.

The couple, who have an age gap of 35 years, first met on TikTok two years ago in 2021.

They started out as friends but after a while, Muhamad Amin, better known as Adam, began to have feelings for her.

"She’s not a famous entrepreneur or anything like that, just a regular person,” said Adam, who’s from Semporna.

"I believe she’s my jodoh (match) as intended by Allah.

The long distance was no obstacle for their blossoming romance as they communicated daily via text messages and video calls.

After Adam decided to meet her, he first worked in Johor as a masseuse to save some money before finally meeting his beloved in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, reported mStar.

Adam, now an agent selling beauty products and the eighth of 10 siblings, is grateful that neither family objected to their union.

The couple, who share a love for gardening and fishing, were engaged in June 2022 before tying the knot in September the same year.

It was the second marriage for housewife Rokiah, who has 11 children, 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

"I’m 62 years old but I feel like l’m 40,” said Rokiah, whose eldest child is 45 and youngest 18.

On why she fell for Adam, she said: "He’s a good man, responsible, patient and very caring.”

Adam, who is equally smitten, said that he has no hidden agenda in marrying her.

He’s grateful to have Rokiah as his wife as she’s caring and perfect in every way.

"She’s also a good cook. My favourite is her fish head curry,” he said.

"She’s my soulmate, my missing rib. Despite the difference in age, our life together is peaceful, we’re very happy.”
