PETALING JAYA, May 21 — It wouldn’t come as a surprise if US actress Meghan Markle’s Givenchy couture wedding gown is this week’s favourite water-cooler discussion.

While the fashion community loved the gown’s architectural lines and chic vibe, not everyone’s in agreement.

Malaysian designer Datuk Rizalman Ibrahim, known for his bridal and couture creations, gave his two cents on the much talked about wedding dress.

"How could you do this to her, sewing a garment that’s crumpled and misaligned until it looks like that? Was it sewn during fasting hours? I’m referring to the execution, not the design,” wrote Rizalman in an Instagram post.

The blushing bride, who wed her prince in Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel, wore a white custom-made gown by British designer Clare Waight Keller that featured an open bateau neckline and three-quarter sleeves.

Keller is Givenchy’s first female artistic director.

Rizalman has been in the fashion business for over 25 years and is a favourite among Malaysian celebrities.
