PARIS, May 15 — Rashida Jones has been snapped up as the first Maison Kitsune brand ambassador.
The actress, screenwriter and producer is set to front the "Maison Kitsuné Parisien” collection for the French fashion and music label, with a debut image published to Instagram showing her rocking a crisp white shirt and pin. "Strong, thoughtful, talented and witty, Rashida perfectly embodies the spirit of the "Parisien” collection,” the brand states.
According to WWD, Jones will star in an upcoming campaign alongside Ed Helms, Isla Fisher and others.
The Parks and Recreation star, who counts 1.2 million followers on Instagram, is said to have been appointed by the brand as part of its strategy to boost its profile in the US. "For us, it’s very important to get a bigger awareness and following in America,” cofounder Gildas Loaec told WWD.
The move is not the first time Jones has leveraged her influence for a brand — last fall, she was unveiled as a "Mega Influencer” for the beauty label Almay, starring in a series of funny videos showcasing her comedic talents, encouraging self-expression and celebrating individual beauty.
